Cyanotype Tote Bag Workshop
Celebrate the longest day of the year with flowers, sunlight, and a one-of-a-kind blue-and-white tote bag.
Cyanotype is a 19th-century photographic process that uses sunlight to create beautiful blue-and-white prints. In this drop-in workshop, you will design and make your own cyanotype tote bag using pressed flowers from the collection of Photo Lab Manager Briann Spies.
The workshop will run from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Registered participants may arrive anytime during that window. Once you begin, your tote bag should take about 30 minutes to complete.
Each registration includes one tote bag. Space is limited to 10 participants, and pre-registration is required.
The cyanotype process can stain clothing, so please dress accordingly. A limited number of aprons will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This event will be held rain or shine.
Pre-coated 5×7 cyanotype kits will also be available for purchase during the event. Each kit includes two coated sheets of paper in a light-tight container, along with instructions for making cyanotypes at home. Do not open the container until you are ready to create your prints.
This workshop is open to all ages. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
