Skill Level: Beginner

Loose clothing and dangling jewelry are prohibited.

What to Bring:  A face shield is recommended for this class. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you.

Students should consider bringing an N95 face mask to wear during the sanding operations.

Create Your Own Wooden Penguin – A Fun Intro to Lathe Turning!

Join us on either Monday evening, January 13, or Monday evening, February 17, for a fun, hands-on woodworking workshop where you’ll turn a charming penguin out of beautiful walnut and maple—even if you’re a complete beginner!

In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn the essentials of spindle turning, including how to use a spindle roughing gouge and scraper to shape your unique creation. We’ll also cover sanding and finishing techniques for a polished final piece. Get ready to dive into the world of woodworking and bring your penguin to life on the lathe!
